The Health Breakthrough Millions Of Years In The Making

Probiotics – which are products that stimulate the growth of microorganisms – may be extremely beneficial to your health.

However, the sad fact is, most people don’t use probiotics, or even know just how great they are for your body.

Now, probiotics are generally used to increase the colony of microorganisms commonly found in your intestines – your gut flora.

And this may boost your overall well-being, health, and the health of many different systems, organs, and cells in your body.

Here’s a fact you probably didn’t know: Studies have shown that roughly 70 percent of your immune system comes from your intestines!

And, those tiny – but powerful – bacteria in your intestines may protect your body from other harmful viruses, toxins, and bacteria that have one mission in mind: to make you sick!

Now, many people think that this may be all your gut bacteria and probiotics do in general.

But there may be a whole lot more than meets the eye…

Three Key Features of Probiotics

Probiotics are naturally designed to aid in sustaining, developing, and enhancing the colony of bacteria that already naturally resides in your intestines.

And, without these beneficial bacteria, there a good chance that you may be sicker…

Have trouble with digestion…

And, possibly have poor metabolic health!

There are many strains of probiotics and gut bacteria that may be present in your intestines at any time.

And, each strain may do something different for your body.

Now, there are three key areas – that you may not know – in which probiotics exert their beneficial effects.

Those areas would be: immunity, digestive health, and metabolic health.

Let’s take a closer look at each:

Aids in Digestion

Do you suffer from inflammation in your colon?

Or have you been diagnosed with irritable bowel disease?

Both conditions are mainly confined to your intestines and may cause gas, bloating, bleeding, ulcers, and other conditions that make it hard to live a normal life.

Although there is medication and common treatment options your doctor can – or will – prescribe, there may be another way.

The use of probiotics has been shown to improve – if not alleviate – some common side effects associated with these two conditions.

In fact, in one study, the use of Lactobacillus Acidophilus for FOUR to EIGHT weeks may have been responsible for a reduction in bloating, and the severity of the bloating when compared to a placebo.

Gut bacteria may also play a vital role in digestion and absorption of food and food particles.

And this may help regulate blood sugar more effectively, maintain – or even – lose weight, and other factors as they relate to digestion and absorption of nutrients found in food.

Boosts Your Cold Fighting Abilities

As previously mentioned, roughly 70 percent of your immunity comes from your gut in the form of your beneficial gut bacteria, and how they enhance many immune structures in your body.

So it would be natural to think that those tiny bacteria may help prevent the cold or the flu.

And you would be correct!

Recent studies have shown that certain probiotic strains may positively interact with your immune system to fight off harmful toxins, bacteria, and viruses.

In fact, one study conducted shows that people who took a supplement with Lactobacillus Plantarum for 12 weeks, were 55 percent LESS LIKELY to develop the cold or the flu!

Comparatively, the placebo group in this study was 67 percent likely to get a cold.  So you see, there was a 12 percent reduction in risk for catching the cold or the flu!

And, for those who did catch the cold or the flu, the time the individuals suffered from symptoms decreased from 8.6 days to 6.2 days.

As you can see from this study, the use of probiotics may enhance your body’s natural immune system, enabling you to fight off infections and toxins more effectively.

And by chance you do catch the bug going around, then your recovery time from common symptoms may be reduced by TWO or more days!

Enhances Metabolic Health

One of the biggest health concerns affecting society today may be the threat of developing metabolic syndrome.

Metabolic syndrome (MetS), which is a cluster of different health issues, may be considered one step away from developing diabetes and other chronic health conditions.

Highlighted by high blood pressure, weight accumulation around your waist, insulin resistance, high visceral fat stores, and poor liver health may all contribute to a diagnosis of metabolic syndrome.

But recent breakthrough studies may show that the use of probiotics may improve some of the symptoms associated with MetS.

One study showed that the use of differing probiotic strains resulted in a reduction in visceral and belly fat, as well as weight, hip circumference, and waist circumference.

Another study showed that one probiotic strain was effective at lowering liver enzyme numbers, which is a sign of better overall liver function, therefore improving another symptom commonly found in MetS.

And this was all accomplished in three months of supplementation!

Probiotics and Your Health

Probiotics, which are products designed to increase the growth of microorganisms, may positively affect your gut bacteria and their function.

And this may lead to better overall health of many of the cells, systems, and organs in your body.

As you can see from the results above, probiotics may be effective at improving your immune system (remember, 70 percent of your immune system is found in your gut), digestive health (mostly as it related to dysfunctions in your gut), and metabolic health.

Daily supplementation with fermented milk, probiotic-enriched food products, or through probiotic supplementation may enhance your normal gut colony, therefore improving many different areas of your health and well-being.
