Questions About Healthy Eating Plans and Metabolism

Does this 'healthy eating plan for my body type' have any real impact or benefit and is it true that your metabolism slows down as you age?


Most of the information you see on eating for your body type is hype and theory.  You will also notice when you look at the details of these types of programs that the information and techniques are very similar to many other fat loss programs.  It is just repackaged and given a different name. The things that work and are backed by science will be found in dozens of different healthy weight loss programs.  They may be called something different, but the information is the same because it works.

As for your metabolism slowing down as you age: this is true.  It is not a drastic sudden change, but more of a slow and consistent decrease.   To combat this you should strength train to build and maintain lean body mass, which keeps your metabolism running fast and delays this slowdown.  Of course you should keep following a healthy eating plan as well.
