There is fiber that exists that essentially has no calories. That is insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber, however, contains calories just like any other carbohydrate molecule (4 calories / 1 gram). The healthy eating guidelines pertaining to fiber suggest a higher consumption of it. Afterall, many studies have shown that successful healthy weight loss diets include fiber.
