There’s No Law Requiring Healthy Food Snacks To Taste Like Cardboard |
We get up in the morning, feed the dog, cats, and goldfish, eat some cereal, and go to the gym. After a good workout and a shower we head into work. By ten o’clock the donuts in the conference room is starting to whisper into your subconscious that a big shot of sugar is the only thing--other than eating your lunch now and having a second one at noon--that will get you through till lunch. The only way to avoid this is to have good access to healthy food snacks. The same thing will happen around two or three pm, except that most people don’t have their dinners in a cooler under their desk, and if they do, they’re working far too hard. This tends to lead a long, tired afternoon of decreasing productivity and increasing sending of emails of cute cats. Making sure you have a store of healthy food snacks close to hand can support your diet and alleviate the mental fading that comes with hunger and an energy deficit. Making sure they’re easily accessible will also improve the odds of reaching for one of them rather than walking across the parking lot to the vending machine. Even the added exercise will not offset the sugar, fat, calories, and eventual crash of a candy bar. Of course, while you are making sure that you’re giving yourself a between meal boost with healthy food snacks, there are other things to consider than proximity. Make sure you find a product that is actually healthy, and made from natural products, but never forget that it should also taste good.
