Best Way To Lose Weight, Lose Weight Fast

Many people feel that the reason people gain fat and don't have successful healthy weight loss is because they overeat.  Common sense will agree with that, but it is not the only factor.  A far bigger problem may be the person’s lack of activity.

A British study was published saying the obesity rates of Britain have doubled since the 1980’s, but what they found was that people were eating less food during that time yet getting fatter.

What seemed to be happening was their activity thermogenesis was lower.  Activity thermogenesis consists of exercise and NEAT, or non exercise activity thermogenesis.  NEAT is basically burning calories by moving around.  NEAT could have a huge impact since the average person burns less than 200 calories a day from exercise.

Your NEAT can vary up to 2000 calories per day.  Your job can be a key factor to how many calories you burn each day from NEAT.  Leisure activities also impact your level of NEAT.  Sitting on the couch and watching TV or playing with your kids or going for a walk have big differences in NEAT calories burned.

One study showed that obese subjects sat for 2.5 hours longer per day than lean subjects and they had similar jobs and living environments.  The difference in NEAT calories was 350 calories per day.

So the moral of this story is become active.  Don’t sit around because you are wasting the opportunity to burn an extra 2000 calories per day and increase your healthy weight loss.
