Go Nuts Over Peanut Butter Bars

Peanut butter is one of the world’s most perfect foods.  This is one reason why peanut butter bars are such an excellent choice as a meal replacement or healthy snack.

For starters, peanut butter bars have peanuts in them.  Peanuts are great on their own, whether salted or unsalted.  Beyond their flavor, they are an excellent source of vegetable protein and healthy fats.

Peanut butter is more palatable to many people than regular peanuts because it contains not only protein--which can do more to boost a workout or tired day than coffee, believe it or not--but added sugar for flavor.  The problem with a lot of peanut butter and peanut butter bars is that they not only contain so much sugar as to overwhelm the healthful aspects, but so many preservatives it’s hard to tell if there’s anything real left.

That shouldn’t lead to avoiding peanut butter.  Never!  It is simply a matter of finding tasty organic peanut butter so that you’re still getting all the benefits and can get that added psychological boost you receive when you’re doing something healthy and liking it.

There is one thing that could make healthy, nutritious, organic peanut butter bars better, and that’s the addition of chocolate.  Especially, healthy, antioxidant packed organic, dark chocolate.  That combination has been a winner for years, just almost never marketed in a way that doesn’t kick your body into overdrive and then drop it when the sugar rush goes.

What you really want is that combination without all the unhealthy aspects.
