Satisfy Your Sweet Craving With This Healthy Food Snack

 

We all get snack attacks and start looking for the sweet, not-so-good-for-you foods.  You might like to know that researchers at San Diego State University conducted a study that had female volunteers eat 12 dried plums one day and low-fat cookies with the same calorie level as the plums on another day.  They said they felt significantly less hungry two hours after eating the fruit.

This happened because the high fiber and sorbitol found in the dried plums kept their blood sugar and insulin levels in check, which keeps your hunger at bay for a longer period of time.  This is a good healthy eating tip to remember whether you are following a healthy weight loss diet or just trying to develop healthy eating habits.

The women said the intense flavor satisfied their cravings for sweets as much as the cookies did.  So, stash some around the house or at your desk and give it a try during your next craving.  5 prunes only contain about 100 calories.
