The Health Benefits Of Drinking Beer

…beer could rival wine as the next drink to improve your health and cut down on your death risk.

Miller.  Bud.  Samuel Adams.

What do they all have in common?  They are some of the biggest brands in the beer industry…

…and they all have a crisp, refreshing taste that complements any lunch or dinner idea you may have!

But my love of BEER is not what we are here to talk about.  What we are here to talk about is the healthy benefits of BEER.

(After all, besides tea and water, BEER is the THIRD most consumed beverage in the world!)

I know what you’re probably thinking…

There can’t be anything good about beer!  But you’re wrong!  Just like RED WINE, beer contains plenty of potent nutrients that could improve your health.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the nutrition you can find in beer…

Besides it being an alcoholic beverage, beer contains some pretty important nutrients.   In very simple terms, beer is made from cereal grains and hops, which could be the main driving forces behind beer's nutritional values.

When compared to wine, beer contains more vitamin B and protein.  However, the antioxidant profile matches that of red wine.

The reason for this is pretty simple: The hops used to create the beer.  Hops are a rich source of flavonoids (potent antioxidants), which gives beer the same power as red wine.

But that’s not all…

Beer also contains a very robust (just like the taste) array of minerals that are needed to improve your overall health.

So now you’re probably asking about the specific health benefits found in beer…

Well, let’s dive in and get our feet wet!

1. May Prevent Cancer

I bet you didn’t think that BEER out of all drinks could prevent cancer—but it may be able to!  Remember the hops that I mentioned earlier.

Well, they contain a potent flavonoid called xanthohumol, which may aid in the prevention of cancer.

You see, xanthohumol may aid in the prevention of certain cancers, including prostate cancer!  Besides xanthohumol, beer is a great source of polyphenols, which may also help prevent the development of cancer.

Beer may be just as powerful as red wine when it comes to preventing cancer!

2. Protects Your Heart

To protect your health, you need to lower cholesterol and triglycerides.  However, there is one other factor you need to consider lowering.

And that is homocysteine levels.   One way to lower your homocysteine levels is to increase your intake of vitamin B6.

Well good thing beer contains plenty of vitamin B6!  Beer also thins the blood, which could prevent the formation of clots that could lead to death or even a stroke.

Also, due to the antioxidant levels, beer may also lower inflammation levels, which could lower your risk for cholesterol and plaque buildup from occurring.

3. Increases Bone Density

As you age, it’s important to maintain bone density to prevent falls and fractures from occurring.

Beer, which contains orthosilicic acid, may help improve the growth and development of bones as you get older.

Studies show that moderate beer consumption may give you enough orthosilicic acid to strengthen your bones and prevent falls and eventual fractures from occurring.

4. Lowers Blood Pressure

Studies have shown that regular beer consumption may actually LOWER blood pressure!  This could protect your health by lowering your risk for heart disease, strokes, and other conditions.

5. Improves Digestion

If you have issues with your digestion, there’s good news: Beer may be able to help!   Beer may stimulate the secretion of gastrin, gastric acid, pancreatic enzymes, and other factors that aid in your digestion.

The Final Wrap…

Just like wine, beer holds many of the same health benefits for you.   You’re getting plenty of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants your body needs to stay healthy, fit, and lean.

So, if you’re of legal age, go ahead and enjoy a beer or two a couple times a week.  Your body will thank you later.

But you must beware…

Although beer and wine may be considered healthy drinks (only in moderation), there are plenty of other foods that you’re currently eating that may not be good for your body type.   On the next page, however, you’re going to learn EXACTLY what foods you should be eating for your body in order to shed fat like crazy.
