What Eating a Whole GROVE of Oranges Can Do to Your Belly Fat

If you are a dieter, than you have heard all the hype about different weight loss herbs that have been shown to be safe and effective at boosting weight loss, with no adverse side effects.

One ingredient that may come to mind, ephedrine, as you now know, was taken off the market due to the dangerous side effects that was associated with it.

When the FDA stripped ephedrine from the market, many people were looking for the next best ingredient that would not only boost weight loss, but would cause no adverse health conditions.

Citrus aurantium, commonly known as Bitter orange, is a component of citrus fruit and it fits the bill as a safe and natural metabolism booster.

In fact, not only has it been shown to boost metabolism but it may also reduce appetite, improve athletic performance, and increase lean muscle mass.

The best part: it has been shown to have no ill-health effects on heart rate and blood pressure (which was affected by ephedrine use).

Although there are numerous clinical studies supporting the safety of Bitter orange, there are also studies that show bitter orange could cause unsafe increases in both blood pressure and heart rate, therefore potentially causing adverse health reactions.

However, a new study published in the International Journal of Medical Sciences, further supports the evidence that Bitter orange is not only effective at boosting fat burning, but also does not increase heart rate or blood pressure.

Let me explain…

Safety of Bitter Orange

Citrus aurantium
, which contains p-synephrine, has been shown to be safe for users and effective at boosting fat burning.

It may bind to β-adregenic cells located on your fat cells therefore potentially activating a series of reactions that frees stored fatty acids to be used as energy.

Therefore, many people worldwide have turned to citrus aurantium supplements in order to improve fat loss, boost metabolism, and increase energy expenditure.

However, due to the nature of p-synephrine, there have been many concerns over the risk of increased heart rate and higher blood pressure after using citrus aurantium.

The authors of this study performed a review on published and unpublished research regarding the use of citrus aurantium and its protoalkaloid p-synephrine, on both weight loss and safety aspects.

They performed a review of 20 studies that included 360 participants.

The subjects in the studies either consumed a p-synephrine supplement alone or in combination with other ingredients.

They showed that 50 percent of the subjects were considered overweight or obese, with two-thirds of them consuming between 132 and 528mg of caffeine in combination with 10 to 53mg of p-synephrine on a daily basis.

The also showed that 44 percent of the subjects consumed a bitter orange/p-synephrine supplement alone.

The rest of the subjects consumed a product containing many different ingredients, but that also contained citrus aurantium/p-synphrine.

Their reviews showed that citrus aurantium did not produce adverse health conditions, such as high blood pressure and increased heart rate.

Plus, they also found citrus aurantium did not alter echocardiographic data, serum chemistry, or blood cell count.

They did show, however, that citrus aurantium was able to increase resting metabolic rate, increase energy expenditure, and produce modest amounts of weight loss, when subjects used the supplement for six to twelve weeks.

Another Strong Case for Citrus Aurantium

When ephedrine was taken of the market, many people searched for a product that would boost weight loss, metabolism, and energy expenditure, while keeping your body safe from increased blood pressure or elevated heart rates.

They discovered a natural ingredient that could do just that.  The nutrient was called Citrus Aurantium, or more commonly known as bitter orange.

Some studies showed that a compound found in citrus auratium, p-synephrine, could cause increases in blood pressure and heart rate.

However, the results of this study (and many others just like it) have shown that citrus aurantium is effective at boosting metabolism and increasing energy expenditure without adversely affecting heart rate or blood pressure.

Weight loss products that contain citrus aurantium may be safe and effective for boosting weight loss without causing adverse reactions to your health.
